I'm having a Spinal Tap moment! What, you don't like free jazz? :-)
I should probably make a post about fun things I've been enjoying of late. Some thoughts off the top of my head:
- still loving PJ Harvey & John Parish album 'A Woman A Man Walked By'. - have been listening to Little Boots album (bought solely because of Phil Oakey) over and over, am amazed at how good it is but then, I do like some shiny synth-pop - gloomy 'post-rock' Italian band Giardini Di Miro album 'Dividing Opinions', which I got for £1.99 on Oxfam! Bargain. - 2 cd collection 'An England Story' (a history of British MCs) has some absolutely cracking tracks on it, particularly the stuff with Est'elle, Warrior Queen, Doctor & Davinche, Skibadee and the lovely Roots Manuva. I was quite excited to find it in the library, and ultraruby & dr_f_dellamorte assured me it was tip-top. They were right! - Sieben aka Matt Howden does absolutely amazing solo fiddle-based 'alternative' dark folky stuff. I'm seen him live a couple of times now and he blows me away. - the Mastodon 'Crack The Skye' album is rather fun... - I'm listening to loads of Grace Jones right now, her recent album 'Hurricane' along with a lot of the older tracks. She never gets old. - do you already have Ladytron's 'Velocifero'? That's STILL on my playlist, even after so long. I have to stop myself from listening to it so I don't get obsessed, and yes, that's 2 years on, nearly?
There's probably loads more, but that'll do for starters, right? I can play any or all these things at you if we happen to be in the same vicinity!
