Manchester

dogrando, marnameow, uon & I are all off to Manchester tomorrow morning. Tomorrow evening we are seeing Aphex (hurrah!), Saturday we are meeting up with fernasto (also hurrah!), but as yet nothing tomorrow afternoon.

Can anyone recommend exciting/interesting things to do in Manchester city centre?

Go to Urbis and the Manchester Art Gallery, maybe MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) and take a look at the shops in Affleck's Palace, which are fantastic.

Alas I've only been to Manc on flying visits, but I do know this: Don't let Pete and Marna into Piccadilly Records ;)

Didn't some Manchester Victorian bath houses win lots of money to get done up and refurbished, in one of those TV competitions? They looked like they'd be amazing fun when they're done.
