Yes I’m worried about that too. Especially as I suspect it too could be changed by “guidance” (to DVLA and Passport Office) but I don’t know to what extent they’re government run & why they’ve made the ID decisions they have currently, if you see what I mean.

I do think that the Commons equality committee will be deeply unimpressed by any proposed change of that sort.
