I think it was an episode of The X-Files where somebody found a genie, and Mulder wished for world peace, and suddenly there were no people in the entire world except for him, Scully and the genie. And the camera crew. And the person who walks around thirty seconds ahead of them stealing all the lightbulbs so they have to use their uber-torches. That ws apparently the only solution the genie could do.
