Hunting Bill

(information from [livejournal.com profile] arkady - can't yet find anything online & don't have a radio/TV here)

Update: Below does not seem to be accurate after all, according to folk watching it on Parliament Live. Bother. So back to keeping thumbs crossed....

Further update: Hurrah, it has now passed after all. Yay.

The Hunting Bill has passed with a majority of 182.

Hurrah.

(though it's not over yet, etc - I *assume* it was passed with the 18 month delay in implementation, but it's likely that the Lords won't pass the Bill which I believe means it would go back to the original 3-month delay in implementation. And that's assuming they use the Parliament Act, though I can't imagine that they would go through all the kerfuffle of bringing it back & then *not* use the PA).

Still hurrah :-)

Hurrah!

YES!! :)

Hurrah indeed. The sight of those protestors today made my blood boil. Oh, for a really, really, really large canister of poison gas.

Better yet - why didn't someone get a pack of rabid dogs and unleash them outside Westminster?

[livejournal.com profile] spikeylady has turned Parliament TV on over here, and the debate seems to be continuing - it's second reading. I'm not sure this is right.

Err, are you sure? They're doing the second reading at the moment - don't think the debate is over yet, and my understanding is that all that goes before the free vote. I've been watching parliament live - the commons getting invaded by protesters was fun.

I tell you what, if anyone in the Commons was on the fence, those tossers who got inside will have done plenty to sway them!

Way to cause harm to your own cause, chaps!

I'm currently watching the BBC News Live newsstream online; the debate finished a couple of minutes ago and the MPs are now voting; result expected to be announced at 6pm.

Excellent - news to cheer me up :)
