Myste update

Myste is back round from the anaesthetic & doing OK. We're to phone back at 4 to see when we can collect her.

Hurrah for Myste! Many thanks to everyone who expressed good wishes - please continue to keep your thumbs crossed, though, as Storm's last op demonstrated pretty clearly that things can still go wrong after the op's finished :-(

The large tumour on her lower abdomen was apparently rather nasty & also vascular. Ari (the vet) wasn't able to ligate all of the blood vessels, so the wound's still oozing a bit, which is why they're still keeping a particularly careful eye on her. They also found a small abscess in her vaginal cavity, which they cut into & expressed. So presumably she'll be on the antibiotics now (along with Arwen, who has myco). There was also a small cyst in her left armpit, which they took out. She was stable throughout the anaesthetic (thank goodness), & is now up and wandering round her cage.

Update: Pete's just off to collect her now. Yay.

Cool; glad to hear that Myste got through the op okay - I know from the stories that [livejournal.com profile] ejde tells that the smaller the creature, the higher the risk of anaesthetic.

Hope she recovers soon.

Goodness, with all the stuff they've taken out of her, I'm surprised there's any rat left. :) Glad she came through it all okay.
