Glastonbury train

People I have train tickets for Glastonbury for:
Me, Pete, [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, [livejournal.com profile] marnameow, [livejournal.com profile] daneel_olivaw, [livejournal.com profile] feanelwa, [livejournal.com profile] mouseboks, [livejournal.com profile] uon, [livejournal.com profile] just_mon.

Train leaves from Paddington at 0933.

Pete has just suggested having breakfast before getting the train at Raffles, a truly splendid greasy spoon by the station (we used to live near Paddington & so know its splendidness). So, you have 2 options:

1: meet us at 0815 at Raffles for fry-up.
2: meet us at 0915 by the ticket office in Paddington.

Would be good if people could say which they plan on doing. Note: you won't get anywhere near the train without a ticket, & I'm not hanging around risking missing the train for late people, so, er, don't be late :-)

[livejournal.com profile] sbp - do you want me to get a refund for your ticket? You'll get 27 of your 37 quid back.

I am going to need to get a cab there, either which way, because it's the the busiest tube times and I'm not risking having a panic just as Glastonbury starts. Do you two want to share a minicab up there? Or else I'll see if Jo and Andrew want to. But greasy spoon sounds like a fine plan either way, so I shall try to do that.

Ooh. Andrew said yes about the taxi, and I forgot to tell you this when you were in my house 30 seconds ago. If you are greasy spooning then we are greasy spooning, although I will be more like toasting.

Refund is fine, unless you think someone might need it for the journey back? I'll check with [livejournal.com profile] ksta

How soon do you need to know about the refund?

[identity profile] marnameow.livejournal.com 2004-06-22 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Umm, if you're cancelling one of them could it be Mon's instead? Just that I haven't sorted her out a YP railcard yet and it's all getting a bit soon there's loads to do because of Ill Sheep. ALthough I could send her off to do it by herself. Or we could get it in Paddington maybe, but that's leaving it very last minute.

[identity profile] marnameow.livejournal.com 2004-06-22 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's quite a lot - shall dispatch her to do that tomorrow, then. So cancel sheep's one (assuming that nobody wants it), please?

Makes far more sense to cancel Kitty's one, yes. Ta!

(although Sean might prefer it if you gave him the cash?)

Kat's confirmed she can transport Kasia on the way back, so all good.

I'll think about possibly joining you all for breakfast, although I am not taking the train. I may punt on account of its being early though.

It mostly depended on how weird my sleep schedule became on my way back from Germany. It's seeming a lot less likely now. :) See you at Glastonbury, in any event.

Paddington's a bit of a sod to get to, so I'll say ticket office.

[identity profile] mouseboks.livejournal.com 2004-06-23 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, in that case I'll make Raffles along with everyone else, to reduce Complications.

Given the inevitable faff, and wanting to get on the train sensibly early (and it was a trek to it last year) how's about meeting at 9am instead? That gives people being-late space (because people *will* be late. people are *always* late).

If it's just mouseboks we should be fine. I am planning to come to Raffles, yes, although I'm not entirely sure 'bout Jo and Andrew. But if we're sharing a cab then it makes sense.

Tickets tonight might not be a bad plan, regardless. One less thing to stress over.
