So. Have not updated much of late.

Last Friday was [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady's birthday celebration, at the Gate in Hammersmith. Which is a v nice restaurant (it is always rather pleasant, as a vegan, to actually have a *choice* of foodstuffs), & it was a good evening, even if [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth & I had to zoom off quickly at the end to get the last tube home. I was reminded, also, that I am just as capable of going off the deep end irrationally as anyone else is, even if I don't do so all that often :-/ No harm done, though, I don't think.

Saturday we wandered over to [livejournal.com profile] nou's party, via Borough Market. I was lazy & didn't cook, but instead ate other people's cooking. Which is a valuable job, although I firmly deny having eaten *all* the mushrooms. Just some of 'em. Sat in the garden till it started raining, then sat in the living room and knitted and chatted to people. It was the sort of level of enjoyable calmness that was exactly what I needed. Slightly exciting tube journey home, firstly in the form of Kitty fainting (arachnophobia-related, poor love - bit scary for me though), and then later someone lighting up a fag. Disapproving looks all round the carriage, and I decided that I was *not* going to wuss out, I was going to say something. So I asked him to put his fag out, & he said "Mind your own business!" and I said "But it is my business!" (it being both unpleasant and dangerous), & everyone else made those muttering noises which mean "Yes we entirely agree with the assertive blue-haired girl but do not intend to actually get involved in case anything turns nasty", & he put it out in a sulky fashion, & I thanked him nicely. Hurrah for me.

Sunday we wandered over to Camden, failed to buy anything, spent a while at the Dev, had an impressive row on the way back, sorted that out, and went back to Bermondsey to catch up with the very-fuzzy-round-the-edges Pete & [livejournal.com profile] marnameow. Which was nice.

Monday Pete & I stayed in & watched 'Never Been Kissed'. It's shit, don't bother. And went to bed early, for we were tired people (tiredness has been a bit of a Feature this week). Tuesday Ben & I went to see the third Harry Potter, which was fun although seemed very rushed. Not sure if I'd have been able to follow it had I not read the book. Wednesday was parental 60th Birthday Dinner down in Bromley, which was very nice, and good to see parents & sister. We went back to theirs for pudding & 60-yr-old Greek dessert wine, which was *lovely*. Drinking something as old as your parents is a bit odd, though. It was also a bit peculiar to get the N47 back home, since as a teenager that's the bus I used to get going the *other* way (from central London to Bromley) after I went clubbing.

Well I would. But I'd be thinking of Dogtanian.

I loved Never Been Kissed but then I am easy prey for 1) teen romcoms and 2) Drew Barrymore.

I had that feeling as well; it was almost like someone was standing in the background going "Come on, speak faster... we've got to get this under 2½ hours!". The effects were good though and Gary Oldman was well cast as Sirius.

You have to wonder how they're going to cope with the rest of the books in the series given how they seem to be getting longer and longer with each new book.

And....

Even though I thought Juliette was cute, I preferred Milady...
