Friday evening I was monumentally lazy & spent the evening on the sofa with Pete, watching "Bend It Like Beckham", which was ace, & eating takeout Chinese. Hurrah. Sofa-based evenings are a Good Thing, at least in moderation.

Saturday started late (whoops), but we managed to motivate ourselves out to Queensway, where I got a Mother's Day present for my mum (book), a Flashman book for me (Flashman rocks), & some vodka for me & anyone who comes round wishing to drink it. Pete got whisky. Wandered back through the park, attempting en route to sort out evening stuff with [livejournal.com profile] wintrmute via mobile. Considerations of time, location & food led to the decision that Toby would come round & I'd cook dinner, & we'd think about the rest of the evening after that.

Happily, matters were taken out of our somewhat indecisive hands courtesy of a text from [livejournal.com profile] beingjdc enquiring whether I might like to go clubbing. Yes indeed. So Toby, Pete & I headed off to Stay Beautiful, there to meet up with the lovely John once he made it down from Oxford. Have not been to SB before but thoroughly enjoyed. I like clubs where I can dress up in going-out clothes (boots & red fishnets, hurrah!), I like clubs where there are lots of pretty people in pretty clothes for me to eye up, I like clubs which play my sort of music, & I especially like clubs where all of the above are true. Expensive booze, though, bah. Top evening all round - spent about half of it squished onto sofa with Toby, Pete, John, & Bryony, & the other half jumping up & down to the cool music. Yay. (bus journey home, & more specifically trek to bus stop, less fun, but we shall draw a veil over this).

Today I dragged myself out of bed at midday to cook fryup. Veggie sausages (Sosmix - good stuff), fried potatoes, mushrooms, & beans. Mmm. Then off to Highbury to visit my sister, who had Mum & Dad round. Failed to fix her computer, as a result of which I now have a pile of her CDs & her new MP3 player to rip one onto the other before Thursday. Currently waiting for dinner, having spent evening sorting out laundry loads, fathoming working of MP3 player, & writing review of restaurant visited on Thursday for Grubstreet. Tired now.

A request: As per above, my sister's computer has broken down (my technical opinion was "it's buggered" - erratic booting has given way to no booting at all, nor any connection to monitor or booting-attempting sounds). She is pretty broke, & is unsure how she's going to get hold of a replacement. Anyone out there with an old box that needs a home (the last one was a Celeron chip, 32MB RAM, so that sort of old), possibly in exchange for beer tokens to some value?
