On the good side: PUB last night, specifically the Dovetail in Farringdon. Was good: nice beer (with exciting things such as cherry in), nice people (Pete, [livejournal.com profile] daneel_olivaw, Dan, Helen, Mr Sneeze, Arjun, Emily), fun conversation-type activities. Hurrah. And I didn't even have a hangover this morning.

Storm-rat: continues to defy medical opinion & common sense, by seemingly getting better. The wound is healing, although there's still nastiness underneath patches of it (but less than there was). She's getting steadily stronger & has now taken to charging around her hospital cage exuberantly at intervals. Plus the vet has got back the results of the swab they took & thinks that another antibiotic might work better, so that's optimistic. But I am trying not to be overly optimistic - she does still have a large wound, and there is still infection, so...

On the bad side: am having One Of Those Days at work (looking up stuff on greyhound tracks, & failing to find any of the information we really need; everyone haring around like lunatics because of press conference tomorrow; general useless grumpy feeling). And having been drawn into the Find Wendy Another Computer concept, it is now all becoming a bit of a nuisance with having to check things with Dad & Wendy both before coming to any sorts of conclusion, and all of this taking so long... But that's probably just me being grumpy.

<sigh>

Oh well, just under 2 hours & I can take myself off to Surrey Quays to sign tenancy contract on New House. Which is good. Hope it has stopped raining by then.
