Whitby was much fun, apart from the bits that involved me having the Cold From Hell. Thankfully it was mostly better by Friday, although I'm still coughing up half a lung at intervals (today's discovery: cycling & coughs do not go together. Thank god it's only a 10min ride - I could hardly breathe by the time I reached work this morning & then home again this evening).

I did actually manage to make it out of the house every evening, as well, despite cold. Admittedly, on Wednesday night I stayed at the Elsie only for long enough to collect myself from the agonising pain of the walk there (cold air + cough = lack of breathing), & on Thursday night I only caught Deathboy & from sitting down at the side of the Spa due to inability to stand up. I was remarkably moderate in my chemical intake all week, as well - shocking behaviour. Tsk.

Other bands I caught included Chaos Engine, who I wasn't desperately impressed with until they played "Gimme Gimme Gimme A Man After Midnight" segued into "Bad Touch" as an encore, followed by "Kids In America". This I liked very much indeed. Headed back to the cottage after that, though, as [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth was feeling somewhat under the weather after whatever it was that *did* happen to him on Thursday night, & I still wasn't quite up to speed myself. And thus missed Wayne Hussey, who apparently was quite good. Icon of Coil on Saturday were top fun - bouncy bouncy stuff (although no, it did not entirely make up for having missed the The Bigger The God gig in Oxford that night. WAH.). All About Eve on Sunday were also cool - & are *blatantly* an indie band & none of your goth nonsense at all. The 80s night on Monday was top fun, & I am coming to the definite conclusion that these days I prefer clubs to gigs. Hmm. Danced to vast swathes of ridiculous music & enjoyed myself thoroughly. Hurrah.

Went shopping twice & acquired only a nice PVC skirt (bought for me by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, who is lovely). Failed to make it up to the Abbey, drat. Managed to remember to eat food at appropriate intervals throughout. Did not spend nearly enough time in the pub, nor really see enough of anyone other than [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth & [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess. Both of whom I *did* see lots of, which was of course ace. All much fun all round, though. Holidays++

In April I shall avoid illness, & increase attempts at socialising. Thus the plan. Someday I may get around to unpacking my rucksack, too. HA.
