It sounds kind of not very busy (feed, play, feed...) but it's absolutely knackering because *always on* -- even when he's playing "independently" he wants input (if just to show me a thing and have me smile at him) regularly, and if he thinks I'm doing something interesting he's over trying to climb up my knees. Happily knitting is less interesting than the Putting All The Corks Into Various Containers game so I can get away with doing that ;)

Potty: very well! We had an interesting couple of weeks nappy-free, during which he learnt to pee on the floor without getting his legwarmers wet, and then basically stopped signalling. We concluded that he was just learning to pee on the floor and started using nappies again, and he's now if anything signalling a bit more clearly. We get maybe 50% of pees (he was in the same dry nappy for about 8 hrs yesterday), and haven't missed a poo since early December. I am Highly Enthusiastic about the lack of dirty nappies (wet ones much less faff). I also know quite a few people whose children really struggled with the transition to a toilet for poos at a later stage (though I also know a lot of people whose children managed fine, of course) so I'm really hoping that we skip that problem. Last night was dry (woke up and signalled in the middle of the night, then not again til morning) which is quite impressive, though that only happens some nights. TBH I think some nights I'm just too tired and don't pay enough attention though...

I doubt we'll do all that much better consistently with wet nappies til he's ready to take full responsibility himself. Which if we're lucky will be some point in the next year (18-24 months is not uncommon with EC'd children) but might be longer than that and I am trying REALLY HARD not to focus too much on that because one thing I have learnt so far re parenting is not to get too attached to any particular outcome ;)
