Currently, I am waiting for the arrival of a fridge, and Pete is asleep. Soon, Pete will be waiting for the fridge, & I shall be asleep.
So. First there was Friday, and I met up with
wintrmute & went to the Jerusalem Tavern where they have many very lovely beers. Which of course meant that I had to try lots of them, which led unerringly to becoming really quite pissed. I particularly recommend the Winter Ale, which is gorgeous, but is also 6.5% which can be a bit, um, dangerous. Lovely pub, really nice atmosphere, & nice friendly staff. But then, sadly, there was closing time. Which is *clearly* too early to be stopping being out, so we came back to the flat & dug out various sorts of booze, and drank them. Top evening all round.
And then there was Saturday, which, unsurprisingly, started off for me with a bit of a hangover. A nice walk round Hyde Park with Pete failed to clear the head, but lying down for the afternoon mostly did the trick. Before heading out for earthlings birthday dinner, which was suitably fun also, with the food & the drinking & the general fun stuff. With many nice people, hurrah, including
j4 and
chrisvenus and doubtless others with LJs which I don't know, & also those without. Many nice people, bounce. Once again, when they finally got us to leave the restaurant at around midnight, people wound up coming back to mine again, for the continuing drinking. Though sadly all I had in the drinkables line was chocolate vodka, Lagavulin, & a bottle of Sol which no one seemed to want. I *think* everyone was tolerably happy, though - at least, they didn't leave till around 3 (excluding those who didn't leave at all & crashed on the floor), so.
And now there is today, with the waiting for the fridge. Sigh. And tomorrow I get to go on exciting shop steward course.
