Wrist update

Wrist not broken, thankfully, merely badly bruised. I have a splint thingy & a sling. Trying to do things one-handed is bloody annoying! Exciting collection of bruises this morning, as well.

And hurrah for the Guy's Minor Injuries Unit - we were in & out, including Xrays, in just under half an hr. Also the nurse, a chap called Mark, was cute :-)

Glad it's not too serious. I am half glad my knees have vetoed the bike, as judging by the weather I am going to have to build an Ark to get home.

The first half-dozen entries on my friendslist include two Injured Hand Motifs, and my own wrist was inexplicably sore last night and this morning. What can it all mean?

Get Well Soon. You're about the sixth person I know to have had a bike accident in the last couple of weeks. Glad you're OK though, sounds like it could have been a lot worse than it was.

God, yes, cd have been much worse (it could have happened about 3 min later, in the middle of Parliament Square with traffic everywhere; or I could have fallen onto tamac instead of dirt; or in front of a bus; or there could have been a lamppost where I fell... came off pretty lightly, really!).

Will take you up on the tea & sympathy, definitely!

P.S. I just got promoted to senior tutor for the grad dip so you'll have to have a one-to-one chat about your career plans with me! Also I finished the unit guide for my methods course and it's even better than last year including a field trip to a psych conference mid term all about sex diversity :-D

I don't suppose you know when term starts/when the induction thingy is? I need to talk to someone (Tony Stone I think) about which courses I take when before that - must email him.

Induction week is the 19th Sept but you'll probably only have to come in one day that week. Tony would be the person to ask to check which day. Research methods looks like being on Fridays again so I'm guessing that'll be your day.

Looking forward to it :-) I had a v.positive work appraisal a couple of weeks ago and am feeling happy about all my teaching/research/work stuff again. Got some great feedback about all of it and apparently people in the dept. are pleased with what I'm doing. Yey!
