Myste-rat

Just taken Myste into the vet for an operation - she has a nasty big (& rapidly growing) lump on her stomach, which they're going to remove. I am worried - rats being small creatures, there's always a risk from anaesthetics. She is still pretty healthy, though, for a 2-yr-old rat, & she came through fine the last operation she had. Keep your thumbs crossed for her, though... can phone the vet to find out how she is after 2pm.

(userpic is of Myste & Storm when they were little baby rats, just under 2 years ago. Myste is now about 9 times bigger, bless her :-) )

Myste is back round from the anaesthetic & doing OK. We're to phone back at 4 to see when we can collect her.

Hurrah for Myste! Many thanks to everyone who expressed good wishes - please continue to keep your thumbs crossed, though, as Storm's last op demonstrated pretty clearly that things can still go wrong after the op's finished :-(

More information - probably best to avoid if of a squeamish disposition )

Update: Pete's just off to collect her now. Yay.
