Phones...

The flap on my Treo180 finally broke yesterday (sob). I was kind of expecting this after the same thing happened to [livejournal.com profile] ciphergoth. Net result: still usable as PDA (although having to hold it together with a rubber band is irritating), no use at all as phone, & have switched SIM to my spare Nokia.

Investigating the Treo600 on Orange, it transpires that the phone costs £99.99, and a 120min plan with 250 free texts, bought online, costs £25/month. My current deal with TMobile is 100 min & 200 texts for £31/month. Switching would therefore save me £72 in a year, thus meaning that the *actual* cost of the phone, over the 12 month obligatory contract, would be £28. Which is not very much at all...

Bad Juliet. No biscuit. No new phones. Unless Dabs give me CASH back for the 180 being broken (which I have emailed them about, as it's still under warranty), in which case I will be switching to Orange with enormous rapidity.

[cries at lack of money & wish for shiny new toy]

Brief trip to pub with [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth on Wednesday, followed by Pete buying me dinner at the Blue Eyed Maid before he & others started playing poker & I headed home to geek. And entirely failed to remember to take raspberry plants over to [livejournal.com profile] daneel_olivaw, oops. [hangs head in shame]. Weekend?

Pete & I were Cultured yesterday & went to see the play 'All or Nothing' in the Menier Chocolate Factory theatre (round the corner from here). The script wasn't up to much, but the acting wasn't bad. It centred around a woman who decides to stop speaking, and the attempt by her husband to get her friends to help him deal with it. And then everyone's relationships/lives/etc go crash! all over the place. Definitely a bit clunky in places. But still fun, esp as we got to go for FREE (the director was dishing out leaflets in the George on Wednesday & trying to get an audience together for preview week).

Tonight, am off to the Hayward Gallery with P to see Roy Liechenstein together with bleepy music (some Adaadat thing), then there will be dinner, then BMovie. Am helping [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth tidy St P up a bit tomorrow. Hopefully [livejournal.com profile] wintrmute's party on Sat, & then [livejournal.com profile] marnameow is helping me dye my hair on Sunday. Busy busy...
