The flap on my Treo180 finally broke yesterday (sob). I was kind of expecting this after the same thing happened to
ciphergoth. Net result: still usable as PDA (although having to hold it together with a rubber band is irritating), no use at all as phone, & have switched SIM to my spare Nokia.
Investigating the Treo600 on Orange, it transpires that the phone costs £99.99, and a 120min plan with 250 free texts, bought online, costs £25/month. My current deal with TMobile is 100 min & 200 texts for £31/month. Switching would therefore save me £72 in a year, thus meaning that the *actual* cost of the phone, over the 12 month obligatory contract, would be £28. Which is not very much at all...
Bad Juliet. No biscuit. No new phones. Unless Dabs give me CASH back for the 180 being broken (which I have emailed them about, as it's still under warranty), in which case I will be switching to Orange with enormous rapidity.

Date: 2004-04-16 07:03 pm (UTC)Just tried to find the aforementioned rumour - I think I saw it on one of the tech news sites I check daily for work - but no sign of it now, sorry.
There seem to be mentions of a Treo 610 (http://www.brighthand.com/article/RumorMill_palmOne_Preparing_Treo_610) about. The lack of bluetooth was a bit of a put-off for me, so it would be nice if indeed it has it.
