juliet: (leaning on red wall)
Good things about this NYE: two rather good parties (many thanks to both lots of hosts); lots of lovely people; kisses from some of the aforementioned lovely people; roast potatoes!; tasty beer; 2005 finally being over; several people complimenting me on my skirt (which I finished knitting that afternoon; and some of the complimenting people didn't even know that I'd made it!); watching the fireworks at Westminster from the roof of Lockwood Square.

Bad things about this NYE: random attack of depressive weepiness around 0030; subsequent extensive feeling sick[0] leading to 3 hrs drinking nothing stronger than water (by the pint) as everyone around me got progressively more trollied... Still, people were lovely & cheered me up (you're all great, you are. Hurrah for great people), and I did enjoy myself anyway.

Since then I have: eaten lovely fry-up (yesterday lunchtime) & lovely pasta (this evening) courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] marnameow; done post-party washing-up; continued to feel mentally/physically dodgy & self-medicated with Lush bath products; watched assorted DVDs; helped finish the party beer; seen more lovely people (well, the above-mentioned lovely people) in various states of death-in-a-bin ruin; finished making a skirt I've been halfway through sewing for about 3 yrs (hurrah); started some more knitting; & cleaned the rats out.

Now, it is bedtime, as sadly (unlike [livejournal.com profile] sbp, lucky sod) I have WERK tomorrow. This may lead to less time spent on the sofa knitting & listening to the radio than has featured in the last week. I Disapprove of this change of affairs.

[0] Current best theory is that both weepiness & unwellness were hormone related - reaction to removal of implant. I am underimpressed, & hope & trust that this is a temporary blip while things settle down, & not about to become a monthly feature.
