Saturday started off with Pete & I getting up early (shocking) to go to the Gainsborough exhibition at the Tate, which was interesting. I much preferred his portraits to his landscapes, but he did some interesting experimentation with techniques later on. Not sure it was quite £8.50's worth of interesting, but there we go. I feel all cultured now, anyway.
And then there was the tidying up for the party, and then there was the party. Which was ace. I drank enormous quantities of sweet wine (cheers
beingjdc), and then quite a lot of chocolate vodka (created by my friend Nick from 300g of Green & Black's dark organic chocolate & a bottle of vodka), & probably some other stuff as well, I can't quite remember. And there was the chatting to people, & the jumping up & down to cool music, & then later on the lying on the floor listening to cool music, & so on & so forth. With lots of my friends, hurrah.
Sunday morning less fun. Only got halfway through my fryup before having to go & have a nice lie-down. But did manage to clear stuff up later, & then spent the afternoon lying on the sofa with Pete, watching Buffy (for lovely Helen gave me both S6 boxsets for my birthday!), one of the Amnesty Secret Policemen's Ball videos, & a couple of episodes of Angel (2.2 video borrowed from Cathy).
I note in passing that Gone (this week's Buffy, which I watched early in hangover-cure mode, though I intend to try & not watch the rest early, cos it's more fun if you save them) has much gratuitous Spike. Lovely Spike.
