Nearly hometime

I mean, I like my job very much, but it's 4.30 on a Friday, and I'm tired and a bit fed-up generally (for no very good reason, I might add), and and and...

On the upside, I just sorted out my intray, or at least made a stab in that direction. I think now I'll move the Towering Pile of Books down into the library, that should use up another few minutes.

You seem to be here. And not in the other place, which I can't work out *at all*. Have you, in some metaphysical sense, 'gone'?

(by "the other place" one assumes you mean mono? It's very simple really. And I am clearly in *both* places, by the Magic of Computers. Does this make me doubly gone, one wonders?)

Juliet going twice at once, surely not. I do mean mono. To say it is so simple, their FAQ mentions using the guest password to look around at lots of instances. However it doesn't say what it is, and using 'guest', '', and 'e-mail address' doesn't work. Or am I an idiot? I fully accept that I may be.

Ssh/telnet to one of the machines (try meson.mono.org), & type "mono" at the first username prompt & "guest" at the second - it shouldn't then ask for a password.

Mind you, you can't read my diary on there as a guest cos it's x-rated, i.e. contains Rude Words.

Whether this makes you an idiot or not I should *hate* to comment on.
