Oct. 27th, 2003 11:40 amPete got back from Florida Saturday morning, hurrah. Although I did rather enjoy having the house to myself for a week. Not that I *did* all that much with the Glorious Freedom (other than have
kitty_goth &
shadow_jess, variously, round to mine instead of going round to theirs), but it was nice anyway.
Fairly quiet week - saw the above-mentioned, went round to
marnameow's a couple of times (for knitting/ranting/watching sillly TV, variously). Vet-stuff previously mentioned on Friday night which was not good, obviously. We buried Storm in the garden yesterday afternoon.
However, the weekend other than that was good. Went to Manna with
kitty_goth on Saturday evening. Manna is fantastic. I had something that called itself a salad but was more like lots of different sorts of mezze - fried breaded tofu, bean salad thing, potatoes in (vegan) mayo, assorted veg inc artichoke hearts & green beans & avocado, sun-dried tomatos, handful of other nice things, with some green leaves on top. Very filling indeed, & couldn't face pudding after that (though they didn't have the vegan cheesecake this time, so this wasn't an utter disaster :-) ) Wound up watching Night Of The Living Dead back at St P with Kitty &
bootpunk, which was fun. V fine evening all round.
Then yesterday evening assorted of my mates from college came out to the George. This was a Good Thing as I haven't seen them for quite a while. Among other things, we discussed the concept of Darth Vader as a pensioner (pottering round the Death Star in slippers, tending his herbaceous borders & trimming the roses with his light sabre); and decided that when Mike becomes Mayor of London, he will move the entire City into Canary Wharf, put *really big walls* around it to keep everyone in, & give Stevie lasers mounted on top of the walls to make sure they stay there. Stevie liked this plan. Plus Oxford Street will be turned into a nice park (idea pinched from Pete &
marnameow.
Only 2 days of work this week, hurrah. Sadly, it appears that there are about 5 consultations that I have to draft submissions for before then. Ho hum. But then Whitby, which should be - interesting, at least.
