General bounce

I have just finished my jumper. And it fits and *everything*. Hurrah. Now I must find time to go to John Lewis & buy:
a) a proper tapestry needle (making-up the damn thing with a darning needle only *just* big enough for the yarn was non-ideal);
b) big needles to knit the lovely fuzzy green/red/purple Colinette yarn the equally lovely marnameow has bought me into a scarf;
c) yarn for assorted Christmas presents.
Hopefully this week sometime.

Dragged my bronchitis-laden corpse out to BMovie on Friday, where there was much fun. Ran into duskdreamer, who I was at school with oh-god-too-many-years-ago-now & have I think only seen once since. Which was pretty damn cool. The world continues small; especially as I also ran into kauket's friend Tom. Many other folk there, & once again I only managed to talk to about half of them, & those not very much. Bah. Good to see people, though. And I got a back massage off simonb, which can only be a good thing :-) (cheers love!) Managed to bounce up & down a bit without hacking a lung out, which was nice. Ran away to get the last tube home, as I didn't think I'd manage staying till 2, & it seemed daft to stay for just another half hr or whatever & then spend twice or three times as long getting home, & being much much colder.

Monumentally lazy day yesterday - wandered over to Marna's for a bit, wandered back & spent the afternoon/evening on the sofa with Pete, eating pizza & watching videos (&, in my case, knitting). Hopefully meeting up with kitty_goth & shadow_jess later, if they ever surface...

The bronchitis, by the way, is well on the mend. Nice antibiotics.

so you live by borough tube station, but shop at john lewis. it's hard to drum the subruban mindset out sometimes, huh?

Nope - I live by Bermondsey tube, work by London Bridge, shop for normal stuff in a variety of places between the two, & John Lewis is the nearest yarn shop to me by about 2 tube zones.

(Mostly I buy yarn on Ebay, in fact, cos it's cheaper by a very long way, but I've a month to make Xmas presents & thus can't rely on Ebay coming up with the goods in time for me to knit things up. The couple of large things I've promised folk will be waiting, though - buying yarn from yarn shops is only financially feasible for small things.)

ok, i've got that figured bow. don't think i've ever been to bermondsey. the wife used to buy yarn from wal-mart, but now she is keener on sewing than crocheting so she might be ebaying some yarn in the near future methinks.
