[falls over asleep]
Dec. 11th, 2004 08:28 pmToday I have been Painting Walls. Last night, I also Painted Walls, except I only got as far as half of one wall (in the living room) before
dogrando & I stood back, looked at the colour, and went "That Is Not What We Want". So we ordered pizza, and Pete fetched beer, and we waited for the John Lewis people to deliver the fridge/chairs/table. And tried not to watch paint drying (in case it went a different colour when dry).
This morning, it was confirmed that the paint was Not Right, so back to Brushstrokes for some little sample pots, & then back *again* 4 hrs later after the samples had dried to get the proper one. So we're one coat behind on the Plan, but this is not a disaster.
marnameow (who r0x0rs lots) came round to help, & between the two of us we did the following: both coats on the light walls (i.e. 3 out of 4) in the bedroom & spare room; one coat on the study; one coat on the top half of the living room (bottom half is different, darker, colour). This is Not Bad. Pete & Dad put kitchen wall units up. Mum cleaned lots of things, and also made the bath drain, with some kind of vile drain-unclogging stuff which should almost certainly not be released into the environment, but hey, at least the bath drains now (& we can now *keep* it that way without aid of Evil Fluids).
And I packed two whole boxes when I got back, as well. Go me. (when the *fuck* we are going to find time to pack everything in between decorating is anyone's guess. Argh.)
Sorry not to make
katyha's Christmas party whatnot - double-booked with the housewarming of a friend P & I haven't seen in about a year. I was hoping to do both, but a) I'm knackered & am having trouble facing the concept of leaving the house at all, & b) it's in Oval, which is rather the wrong area for party-hopping to Liverpool St. Bah.
