Spent the week between Xmas & New Year variously buying a sofa, spending a hideous amount of money in Jaeggis (mmm, lovely pans & kitchen whatnots), painting woodwork, having date nights with Ben & Pete, and discovering that when P & I thought 'hmm, maybe going to the Bermondsey Antique whatnot for the chest of drawers might be a plan' what we actually meant was 'we should find a second-hand shop'. Antique != second-hand, not cost-wise it doesn't. Still, it was a useful discovery. And we had chipses at a nice cafe on Bermondsey St.
Friday was of course NY Eve, and thus there were Parties to be attended. Ben & I headed over to St R early, where

Saturday I spent mostly in bed, for I was not feeling quite the thing. Alternated between sleeping and staring at the ceiling. Staring at the ceiling was actually surprisingly relaxing. It's not very often that I can cope with not doing anything at all. Wandered over to Marna & Sean's later in the evening, where they were watching Mulholland Drive, but were accommodating & changed to Man On The Moon since I cannot *stand* Mulholland Drive. MOTM was v good & definitely recommended.
Yesterday I had a date with Ben, & we were monumentally lazy and watched Buffy and Blazing Saddles and went out for lovely pizza at La Porchetta. Mmm pizza. And today Pete & I went to the Design Museum, which was good. Especially the bit about London Transport design stuff (for we are Tube Geeks and squeaked at the nice maps and nice lettering, and watched the 1930s Informational Film all the way through). They currently have a section up when has designers choosing things they consider to be classic design for under a tenner - sadly no one had included the Maglite (surely there's a Maglite you can get for under a tenner?), but the pocket A-Z did, and lots of Muji stuff, and the aluminium water bottle that I have one of. Pete is currently constructing smoothies to use up the overripe banana collection, which we will have after the stirfry he's also about to construct using the New Wok. Mmm food.
Back to work tomorrow, boo.
