Things that are good today

- Pretty mountains!
- Me having sorted out the feature request I've been working on (well, subject to approval of the external library required).
Distressingly, last night involved missing almost the entirety of General Khaki's set when they got shoved on stage early *&* had their set shortened. Wah! This was not assisted by the hopeless incompetence of the door staff - though at least the woman-with-a-clipboard let Pete in despite not being able to find him on the guestlist (which was good as I was about to cry at this stage). Still, the one song (plus what I heard from the corridor) was, of course, v fine. The extra bloke whose insertion into the evening was the cause of GK's brevity was a bit shit. Wasn't desperately impressed by the Cazals, either, though they were tolerable. Babyshambles came on around 2045, since if Mr Doherty stays out past 10pm currently his FEET WILL EXPLODE (possibly). I was all geared up to dislike them, but they were actually OK. The music itself was OK, although getting tedious towards the end of the set; but Pete D does IMO have a fair bit of charisma & stage presence & so forth. Which is monumentally depressing, in that the man has *talent*, at least *some*, and he's merrily pissing it all up the wall instead. [sigh]
We retreated to the pub for a swift half post-gig (I quite like this 'finishing early' business, in fact), via a brief snowball fight, before heading back home because a) even a very little snow tends to lead to Transport Disaster (though thankfully not in this instance), & b) dogrando is Unwell, poor love.

Date: 2005-02-22 04:26 pm (UTC)According to TM the Cazals were quite below-par last night. I was admittedly a bit Teh Drunkard when I saw them last. Will judge again tonight at Brixton.
