Hurrah, dogrando, martling, & myself have Glasto tickets (now awaiting confirmatory email, eep...)!

9 million or so thanks to uon who is a star & sorted us out when it wasn't working over here but was over there. Hurrah for doop!

(I am a bit worried that I've now ordered nine Glasto tickets so far, and if something bad happened that made them appeared to have succeeded without actually succeeding, then that's lots of people who can't go and it will be all my fault. Argh. HURRY UP CONFIRMATION EMAIL!)

It will be fine! It all went through OK & they have phone numbers & there is clearly nothing wrong with the same IP address ordering tickets more than once.

Meanwhile shadowdaddy has deleted his entire inbox including the info he needs to get tickets. Very unhappy boy here. Any ideas how to deal with this?

Unfortunately at this point I don't think there is; the official line was "don't lose this information", & everyone's going to be snowed under now so no chance of phoning the farm & asking them to look it up :-( Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. No inbox backups anywhere?

He's sent an email to the guys who run the servers but, well, it's 2 AM there, so maybe it'll happen by tomorrow, and maybe they don't do backups much - we'll know in a day or two.

Almost certainly going to be sold out by tomorrow :-( though sometimes they do a second run later on if people cancel (or they may do a ticket exchange thingy for people who buy but then can't go after all).

NB the Glasto FAQ (can't get to the site but got this out of the Google cache) said:

Will there be a further sale of tickets?

* As there will inevitably be duplicate purchases, declined payments and cancelled transactions after April 1st, a further sale of tickets will be held this year, on Sunday 22nd April, at 9.00am. The same requirement of prior registration will apply.

However the BBC's version of the FAQ just says "No." in answer to that question!? WTF?

they said on the website before it was the current message that there will be a 2nd run for returns etc on 22nd ish. check tomorrow when the glasto web responds!!

Hrmm. The BBC's version definitely says 2007 (though they may have just copied it from last year) but I can't get to the actual this-year Glastonbury site to check the FAQs...

I'd suggest that people who still need tickets a) keep trying now, and b) check the FAQ after the rush dies down because I really am pretty sure it said there would be a second ticket sale.

I was just hitting reload on my inbox again & thinking "oh noes, no email yet" & then I remembered that actually addedentry booked our tickets, and I just booked loads of other people's. 8-) It's been a long morning...

Though now I come to actually think about it, I've applied for a conference in France that clashes, so hopefully I couldn't have gone anyway. They'd better accept me for that now!

so why don't the clowns in charge charge the right amount to maiximise their income (i.e. consdierably more)? then all of this faffing around wouldn't be necessary and they would make more money.

in fact rather than just hiking the prices they could go the whole hog and actually auction the tickets themselves through ebay or through their own site.

i guess expecting hippies to get a grip of economics is a stretch though.
