Treo 600 query

I was trying to locate a free alarm clock (countdown timer is what I'm actually after) for my Treo. Which I successfully did; but then discovered that it will seemingly only play alarms if the system tones are switched on. Having the system tones switched on means a little sound every single time you choose an application or whatever, & makes me want to kill things; so that's a non-starter. The alarm function on the DateBook works even with system tones switched off, I might add.

So: any of the Treo owners out there suggest a way around this?

I think BigClock will optionally ignore the system sound settings when sounding alarms. There's something to this effect in the changelog.

And some nice chap appears to have compiled it for the Treo 600.

Aha! I hadn't found the Treo 600 version. This works - cheers. And, indeed, I didn't even have to make it do anything particular to go beep at me.
