[livejournal.com profile] catsgomiaow & I went Chocolate Shopping yesterday, to Rococo Chocolates. I acquired a bar of 99% cocoa chocolate (the remaining 1% is soya lecithin, for the record), & a bar of 65% cocoa Earl Grey dark chocolate, which has both Actual Tealeaves & bergamot oil in, and is very nice. The 99% stuff is weird - both sweet and not-sweet tasting at the same time (it tastes much sweeter after you finish eating it). I also get a noticable buzz from a fairly small square (though note that I rarely consume caffeine as a rule). *Nice* chocolate.

Saturday morning, Pete & I went to a Green Gym session out by Prince Regent DLR, in Ham Creek Wood. Had a bit of a struggle to find it, but finally got there & spent 2 1/2 hrs variously taking part in a (somewhat late) summer-cut of the central wildflower meadow (Pete) & weeding/raking back/clearing the path around the edge (me). And thoroughly enjoyed it, as well, although my back was complaining a bit by the end. It was good fun, though, and nice to get to do something conservation-y as well as getting some exercise. Rewarding, as well, in that by the end of the session we could all see a visible difference - the place looked much better, even though there's a lot yet to do.

Then I headed off to Islington to see my [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, who is now BACK from the US. Plus got to catch up with [livejournal.com profile] bootpunk, [livejournal.com profile] ciphergoth & [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady, which was all Good. Pottered around a bit, then later on in the evening went to a party that Ben's friend Liz was having - was good to talk to people, but didn't stay long since I was a bit tired, & Ben was jetlagged. Someone kept turning the music up, as well, & my hearing-discrimination deteriorates *anyway* when I'm tired :-/

Sunday morning I headed off to the Knitting & Stitching Show, where I bought Christmas-present yarn, some lovely blue/green rayon floss for me, & a swift (a thing for winding hanks of yarn into balls) on [livejournal.com profile] marnameow's behalf. K&SShow rather big, & quite tiring. Was distinctly under the weather by the time I got home; and having an hour's sleep failed to help much :-/ Not really in the mood for the Magnetic Fields gig, but dragged myself out anyway, & of course, it was ace :-) (The Real) Tuesday Weld were fun, although by the end of the set were getting a bit repetitive; the MF themselves were fantastic. And they played Papa Was A Rodeo, hurrah. And were endearingly geeky; and climbed on chairs. Ran into lots of people I hadn't known were going to be there, which is always Good.

Yesterday was mostly spent suffering from the headache that had materialised on Sunday at the K&SS & which was not banished by the Magnetic Fields. It seems mostly to have gone now. I hope.

That 99% stuff is somewhat scary, in that its actually quite difficult to want to eat very much of it.

When I once ran an online gourmet chocolate shop (http://www.gourmelle.se) (which is now resting -- online shops never close they only stop getting updated) I imported truffles from Rococo. They were yummy.

But they always play Papa is a Rodeo... I am getting a little tired of the same selections from 69LS... there's 69 of them, FFS!
