Dec. 18th, 2004 12:26 amIt is invariably quite disturbing how much *room* your possessions take up when boxed up & sitting in the middle of rooms, rather than put away around the edges. House is covered with boxes. I do not like moving. We have, inevitably, run out of boxes, but at least this time we ran out rather later (last time we only managed to pack up about 50% of the house, which was non-ideal). Once again the Plan will therefore involve Load 1, unpack some of boxes (probably the book-boxes, though irritatingly this time won't be able to unpack them straight onto shelves[0]. But hey, books pile well), return empty boxes to currenthouse, repack boxes with contents of kitchen. *Basically* just the kitchen to do, though... [she says optimistically, ignoring the fact that there is invariably a huge quantity of Stuff that hasn't been packed & you don't realise till all the packed Stuff is out of the way].
Argh.
Will go to bed soon;
kitty_goth is on his way over so he can help us first thing tomorrow before heading off to visit family for the weekend, so I'm waiting up for him.
Was supposed to be at NMA gig tonight, but tickets were mislaid (not by me) so no NMA for me :-( Maybe next year... I suppose at least it meant I could do a bit more packing/organising/etc.
Argh. I hate moving.
[0] Cannot put shelving units where they ought to be in living room or bedroom until lovely new bamboo flooring has been laid on Monday. Should avoid putting books on shelving unit in spare room or study until carpets laid, which isn't till sometime in the New Year. [sigh]
