I have missed cycling. Cycling in this morning made me really quite happy - surprisingly so given that it was absolutely pelting it down at the time. Sufficiently wet, indeed, that I had to detour on my way in, to buy a dry skirt to wear rather than sit in my damp trousers all day. And then bought two skirts, instead, because I liked them both. Oops. But yes: hurrah for exercise, & not struggling onto the Tube.

The rocket (last year's plants) has started growing again, so I had 6 tiny little rocket leaves to take in with me today. Well, it's a start. Everything else has started sending out shoots, as well. I have high hopes for the blackberry & raspberry canes this year. For the moment, I suffice my fruity desires with apples & oranges & dried apricots. (no, none of which I grew myself).

My LJ account is about to run out, curses curses. Will wait till after payday to renew, anyway.

In my office, there were three very happy women dressed in soaking wet cycling gear this morning - self included. I was thrilled to bits to be cycling again after five weeks, and the rain felt gorgeous and refreshing :o)

I have planted some rocket and it is all coming up now. I am very much looking forward to devouring it as soon as it is big enough. It is amazing how fast the little shoots lean toward the window when I've turned the pot around to stop them getting lopsided.

I also have basil (starting to show now), chives (also starting to show), parsley (might be starting to show, I think), peas (nothing yet), tomatoes (nothing yet), and chili peppers (again, nothing yet). Not bad for not having a garden. Oh, and some horribly pot-bound mint I bought in a container from Tesco and must find a larger pot for.

My bike's been in for repair for a few days so we had a happy reunion today.

Hurrah for things growing! I planted rocket and radishes and spring onions last night, and flowers. And my baaaaby basils and tomatos and sweet peppers are beiginning to sprout. And later I will plant the outdoors-with-shelter seeds and soon the balcony will be invisible under the GREEN!

Oh! Garden center near work does decking and I have a catalogue for you and I think they do the right size squares for £5 each, which is still a bit much.

My baaaby basils and 'matoes and peppers are all inside in cat-proof propagators. As are the pretty flowers. (Well, the pictures on the packets are pretty, so I'm hoping the flowers will be pretty too.)

If you're getting seeds give me a yell, because I have leftovers of all sorts of things.

I know I have spare of basil of a few varieties, sweet peas, tomatoes, sweet peppers, parsley and coriander, and I have not-yet-sown french beans and baby fractal brocolli that I *know* I have too many seeds for. So if any of that lot are on your list come and nab the seeds.

Plan! It seems daft and wrong to let the seeds sit about for a year and lose their magic.

Cycling home from Marna's in the rain last night would have been quite nice if I hadn't been so exhausted. But I went very very fast, mwahaha, I beat the bus...

Your bike ride to work sounds fantastic. I really need to shake the dust off and get on the road!

'Tis great. But would be a very long and hairy bike ride for me from Southfields to the Strand!

There comes a point in the commute that there is no way you are staying dry, and you might as well find some joy in being in the rain. It's better when it happens on the way home, of course. ;)

Last time I rode to work was in November. I got picked up that day, and the bike is still here. Soooo out of shape now.

I have forgotten what I've planted!

I have onions coming up, definitely. But what's all that other stuff? I can't remember!

On my windowsill I have scotch bonnets, Artichokes, purple and green basil, and coriander.
