Bits & pieces (& Firefox help required)
Apr. 18th, 2005 02:49 pmI now have BLUE HAIR again. A very nice dark blue, although I suspect it'll lighten up rather over the first couple of washes. The post-bleaching blonde was entertaining...
Pete & I went to the Trade Justice Movement night of action on Friday night - I only lasted till around midnight (sat around in Parliament Square for a bit, then watched a film in Central Hall), but Pete stayed up for the candlelit vigil at 4am before catching the night bus home. But I *did* turn out of bed again at 0620 to get back to Westminster for the final march. It was a gorgeous morning, and a really nice atmosphere. Headed to Paddington after that for breakfast and a walk through Hyde Park with my
kitty_goth; and then went home & finished making myself a nice black/blue/different blues dress. Which came out surprisingly well, in fact. Hurrah for me. Post-Dr-Who Pete & I went to the pub to catch up with
rgl,
kauket, &
zenithed, among others. This was a Good Thing, especially as I haven't seen Jo in particular for bloody *ages*.
Hyde Park again on Sunday, for a picnic with Pete before going to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Pretty things! (and therein my opinion ceases. P spent time peering at the details of which camera & film & whatnot. I went "pretty!" and then sat down to knit for a bit. But they really *were* pretty!) Pottered a bit in the evening, & applied bleach/hair dye;
kitty_goth came over for pizza, & we watched Planet of the Apes, which is frankly a bit rubbish.
This afternoon we are off to Ipswich to collect BABY RATTIES. [bounce bounce] So poor lonely Bramble-rat will have company.

In other news: I have recently moved from Opera to Firefox, now that there's a plugin which remembers all the tabs you had open last time when you restart it (a necessity for my browsing habits). However, it is missing one very useful thing: Opera allows you to middle-click anywhere on the page to load the contents of the clipboard. So you left-select a link, & then just drop it into Opera. To do this on Firefox requires one to empty the address bar (opening a new tab is easiest), select the link, drop it into the address bar, & hit Return (or Go). MUCH MORE WORK. I cannot find a plugin for the behaviour I want - anyone know of anything?
Edit: Have found it. You need to turn it on under 'tabbed browsing' in Preferences. And, as
fluffymormegil says below, ctrl+middleclick opens a new tab for it. Good stuff.
