Glastonbury thoughts...

catsgomiaow mentioned ID & CitizenCard & whatnot for getting into Glastonbury. Note that you *don't* have to get a CitizenCard if you don't want one[0] to get onsite. A photo driving licence is also acceptable, as is your passport. Passports haven't been mentioned on the website because they don't want to promote them since the police think they're too valuable for people to be carting around the festival with them. If you do take yours, you should put it in the lockup immediately on arrival.

In other news, it occurs to me that I used to have a little tin for putting fagends in (they don't biodegrade, & the cows don't like them, so every single one dropped on the floor has to be picked up again before the cows can come back), but have lost it. But! these people sell little pocket ashtrays for £2.99 apiece. I shall be acquiring one - anyone else want one & I can get a job lot? (specify design if bothered)

I also need a folding chair (knees increasingly buggered...) & a space blanket to put under the sleeping bags. Must go camping-shop shopping!

True, but beware that you can be fined £1000 for not informing the DVLA of a change of address (it's free - just fill in the details on the back of the licence and send it off and they'll send you a licence with your new details).

TM can also be (theoretically, of course) fined for supplying a false address when caught fare-dodging on the bendy bus. What a scamp he is.

The problem is a) they don't accept overseas addresses and b) if you still have an old style license they want you to convert to a picture one and send in your passport and such to prove your picture is right... which isn't very useful if you're out of the country and need such things to get around.

Hmm I have a picture photo driving license, but it has a different address to my current abode (only 120 miles out) - hope it will be OK as I know I'll never get around to having my photo taken for a new photo ID card

One of those links I put up top says that the address won't be checked - it's the ID bit that's needed.
