[livejournal.com profile] catsgomiaow mentioned ID & CitizenCard & whatnot for getting into Glastonbury. Note that you *don't* have to get a CitizenCard if you don't want one[0] to get onsite. A photo driving licence is also acceptable, as is your passport. Passports haven't been mentioned on the website because they don't want to promote them since the police think they're too valuable for people to be carting around the festival with them. If you do take yours, you should put it in the lockup immediately on arrival.

ID info here and also here.

In other news, it occurs to me that I used to have a little tin for putting fagends in (they don't biodegrade, & the cows don't like them, so every single one dropped on the floor has to be picked up again before the cows can come back), but have lost it. But! these people sell little pocket ashtrays for £2.99 apiece. I shall be acquiring one - anyone else want one & I can get a job lot? (specify design if bothered)

I also need a folding chair (knees increasingly buggered...) & a space blanket to put under the sleeping bags. Must go camping-shop shopping!

[0] I explicitly don't because I don't trust the Home Office not to claim that CCard takeup rates represent support for compulsory ID card

Use compass/screwdriver to bore some holes?

Once the string/bit of wire/whatever has gone through the hole, seal it up with blue tack!

I like this game! It's kind of like the Crystal Maze.

Not blu tack - if you're going to do that, you'll want to seal the holes with superglue or something of that nature.

How about velcro? - you can get velcro that's sticky (ie. you can stick it onto the cannisters) and then take the other piece of velcro, make a couple of holes in it for some string/thread (so you can hang it round your neck*) to and then you can stick container to you, remove it to use it and then stick it back again.

* I think that if you try and stick it to something round your wrist it'll get knocked off. Putting the other piece of velcro through a belt loop and sticking it on there might work though.
