So, rather to my own surprise, after last night's Staying Up Late & Drinking Of Perhaps Slightly More Wine Than I Meant To, I was only 5 min late for physio this morning (at 8am). After, thus, a three mile cycle, 65 min of reasonably full-on knee-related circuit training, and another three mile cycle (plus a bit for the detour needed to locate soya milk ftb I really need some tea this morning[0]), I feel... about ready to go back to bed, actually, thanks.

Still, at least I have tea now. And a mandarin & dragon fruit smoothie, whatever the sod a dragon fruit is[1]. It says 'Detox' on the bottle; this cannot be bad. Tastes OK, as well.

Last night was much fun, anyway. Missed almost all of the first band; the Great Bear I thought were rather fun (and they had a trumpet! Always a bonus); and Taxi Thingummy (or possibly Thingummy Taxi) were about 15 and clearly should have been tucked up in bed. [livejournal.com profile] dogrando, [livejournal.com profile] carsmilesteve, & myself were making comments to that effect, & feeling v old as a result, until discovering from [livejournal.com profile] katstevens that they were actually all about 15 and yes, that was the singer's mum and dad picking them up afterwards. Bless. The lead singer looked like he really wanted a heroin habit but didn't quite have the nerve; and had also missed the memo warning that you can carry off the charity shop ill-fitting jacket thing only if you're really cute.

Ver Khaki were of course splendid as ever, and much jumping up & down (and possibly Swaggering) ensued. Good stuff. Also Good Stuff was [livejournal.com profile] catsgomiaow's DJing.

Can I go back to bed, now?

[0] Tesco Express by Westminster tube is rubbish and not worthy of the name 'Tesco' at all. It is a corner shop, not even remotely supermarketish, except that our corner shop sells sodding soya milk. Thankfully Sainsburys Local on Victoria Rd sorted me out, even if that did mean the exciting cycle round, rather than across, Hyde Park Corner. All limbs, head, etc appear still intact.

[1]A dragon fruit, yesterday.

That's Tesco Express for you. You want the Tesco Metro round the corner, you do. Westminster, everything is hiding somewhere...

Corner of Monck Street and great Peter Street, I can't promise you soya milk, I've never had call for it, but it's relatively big.

Do you not cross at Lambeth Bridge then? That's how I walk, when I walk in.

Yeah well, I know which roundabout I'd prefer, but I might get off and walk for either. The point is one takes you near the big Tesco, and one doesn't...

Talk Taxis.

They were a *leetle* bit older than 15, but young enough to actually have to think about whether we could be charged for supplying booze to minors...

I thought Great Bear were absolutely smashing. My fave band of the night. They are much improved on the last time I saw them (about a year and a bit ago) as they have dropped nearly all of their ballads and written more cracking bouncy tunes.

i was more worried about their little friends who looked younger than them. there are rules about 14-18s in entertainment venues, in that it's OK as long as there is a responsible adult with them.

this morning i haf learned what a dragonfruit is, who says the interweb is useless, eh? eh?

I realised a while ago that I was precisely half the age of my mother, and therefore exactly the same age she was when I was born. This is scary not only for Being Old reasons, but also because it sounds like one of those stupid riddles you can solve in a line of algebra. And I don't have a mortgage, either.

Hurrah for psytrance goodness! Are you coming to the Gothick Darque Psytrance Thingee at electrowerkz on Friday as well?
