I love the footballism! Am sitting in the courtyard of the George & it is next thing to *empty*. You can even get served in less than 10 min! Excellent.

*grin* The tube was lovely tonight too compared to the usual sardines at that time.

Hee! It was quicker than usual getting the bus back too - It's not even half past 7 and I have ALREADY got the dinner, on, washing up sorted etc etc. Tho I suspect I heard both the England goals being scored as I walked back from the bus stop - lots of whooping and hooting going on.

Its -great- isn't it. I'm also sitting in the 'we dont have any interest in the world cup' corner at work.

The train home this evening was suitably quiet as well, very pleasent.

Less nice is the potential 24 train strikes next week timed to coincide with england games - it'll make getting to work kind of interesting, especially as I have to be in the office on one of the days the strikes are planned for :(

Yeah. When I got into the gym last night I saw a sign saying 'tonight's 18:45 cycling class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances'

Yeah right. Last night's match has been on the schedule for months!

Looks like the strikes are probably off. At least, the next one is suspended following an improved pay offer, and that sort of suspension normally indicates that they're going to be able to sort things out. (Reuters)

Yay! The one I cared about (20th/21st) has gone - the other one on the 25th I don't really care about as I can work from home on that day.

There are definitely some serious silver linings to it all. The constant NOISE remains a bit of a downer tho.

I love football....

...means I can get some decent shopping done :)

I take it the George is a TV-free pub?

I am also enjoying the football, for similar reasons.
