Pubs & bikes

julietSpent yesterday cycling round assorted outlying Oxford villages, in order to drink beer (& lime-&-soda) in several rather nice pubs. Weather was slightly too warm, but company was excellent, & the whole thing was sufficiently enjoyable that ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
dogrando & I got back to London significantly later than we'd vaguely envisaged (thanks to hatmandu for planning of cycling, & brightybot for loan of rear light that enabled P to get back across London in legal safety). Although the 'very rough & steep' bit marked on the map was not in any way an exaggeration & I signalled failed to get more than about halfway up it actually on the bike. The downhill afterwards was fun, though :-)
The rest of the weekend, prior to that, featured a lovely evening withuon (although Tas on Borough High St is prob not worth returning to); interesting fruit-based drinks in Clapham (acai is very nice! And makes you go bounce!); park-sitting-in; allotmenting (the borlotti beans are enormous & the squash continue their plans for world domination); the consuming of lots of v nice food created by marnameow; and watching the Glastonbury documentary which made me go all I-want-to-live-in-a-field! again. Cos, y'know, I have had patches during this summer where I haven't thought that. Um.
ION: the people at Thrifty at Tower Bridge are lovely ftb they are allowing me to leave my bike with them over the bank holiday wkend[0]; soya nuts are v tasty (hurrah for the excellent taste ofkitty_goth who introduced me to them); and I have a week of Fun[1] upcoming, starting with dinner with angelmine tonight. Good stuff.
[0] I am renting a car from them for the duration; they're not just running a bike-park in their spare time or anything.
[1] And a couple of minor medical unpleasantnesses, but I am choosing not to dwell on these.

(this would of course involve you coming South & then going back North so may be an unappealing prospect)
