Weekend

Jul. 12th, 2004 02:37 pm
juliet: (summer)
Friday night was spent, as per plan, watching Monsoon Wedding on DVD with a nice bottle of beer, and CURRY.

Saturday mostly involved clearing of house for party, swearing at the occasional drop of rain (thankfully it *mostly* stayed dry during the evening - just the odd few minutes of dampness, so most of the time people could spread outside.

And then PARTY hurrah. I had a splendid time, all in all, and thank you hugely to all the lovely people who came along - I trust you all enjoyed yourselves as well. I seem to remember talking to lots and lots of people, but also having completely failed to talk to at least some people, and not talking to anyone in particular *enough*. I think this is because we have lots of fantastic friends all of whom I could happily spend the entire evening talking to just by themselves :-) (mutters again about how one of the nicest things about parties - having lots of people you know all there at once - is also one of the nuisances, in that it doesn't go along with infinitely elastic time). I also made lots of people eat rocket, & told them how easy it is to grow & how they should grow some. I may be a bit obsessed by rocket (and, indeed, plants in general) atm, whoops... Park-going occurred shortly before dawn; then the remaining awake people (by then I think it was just me, Pete, [livejournal.com profile] marnameow, [livejournal.com profile] simonb, [livejournal.com profile] mouseboks, and [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, who very quickly turned into a non-awake person) did our best to fit all of us onto Pete's & my bed & carried on being awake until 10.30 or so, whereupon we roused all the sleeping folk downstairs & made an expedition to the greasy spoon opposite Southwark Park. Mmmm chips. And tidying up didn't take too long once we got back because everyone was helpful, bless them all (and especially [livejournal.com profile] uon, who did even *more* washing-up later in the evening). Hurrah for parties.

Ben & I then went off to [livejournal.com profile] catsgomiaow's place for gorgeous food, & nice company. Sadly, I started dozing off after a while & had to take myself off back home, but it was good while I was still awake! Home, bath to detwitch myself, bed and MUCH SLEEP.

Of course, now I am still knackered, but never mind :-)
