back at work
Dec. 13th, 2007 03:10 pmWhy am I not still on leave? WHY?
I had a lovely week off, though. Some of it was in Manchester (Aphex fab, pubs fab, people fab), some of it was in Liverpool (people still fab, roast Xmas dinner ditto), & some of it was sitting on my arse at home doing FA (also fab).
Last night
uon & I went to see the Terracotta Army thing at the British Museum, for Free with Extra Free Booze (because his work-related establishment are sponsoring it). Not so much a Terracotta Army as a Terracotta Squadron - they're impressive, still (especially the bronze half-chariot!), but I am now thinking that maybe I want to see the full lot at Xi'an. There were Terracotta Acrobats, too, which I particularly liked.

Date: 2007-12-13 10:31 pm (UTC)Yes, I think going to see the whole lot would be really cool - I can understand why they didn't bring more though, besides the thing about exporting national treasures apparently when they built that 'floor' in the reading room to stand them all on, and did calculations to factor in the weights of all the visitors and so forth, they were a bit worried the floor wouldn't be able to support the weight!
