Bicycling adventures: planned

Off tomorrow to cycle the Great Ocean Road, & on to Mt Gambier. (Where I am getting a bus the rest of the way to Adelaide.) No idea how much internets there is en route, & I will be camping rather than hosteling in general.

I gather they have hills. Boo. On the upside, Cepheus went to the bike doctor yesterday & now has fully-functional gears and a less grubbly BB. And I have 4 panniers full of *crap*: for serious like, how can I possibly need that much stuff? (I probably don't, but I am a bit rubbish at packing light. Maybe I'll get better after a few hills when I chuck half of it into the sea...)

Oh, the Great Ocean Road is on my list of Dream Roads! Have fun!

You would *love* it. I saw lots of motorbikes along it (& chatted to a few riders at stops), and they looked to be having a splendid time. It's great fun on a pushbike as well, but you have to try harder on the ups :)

500 k??!!! ***ing hell.

We *drove* down the Great Ocean Road that way, and it took us 2 days!!!!

Only did about 300k in the end (over 5 days) -- the weather was a bit crap & the last two days were going to be very long, along a major road, and into a headwind, so I went "sod that" & got the bus. Rode all of the GOR, though -- the last 2 days were just to get me from Warrnambool to Mt Gambier.

It was fun!
