This is of me! My partner dogrando took it - I wanted some decent photos of myself, so we set up properly & took loads. You can just see my Favourite Boots Ever (the lovely vegan New Rocks). I no longer have hair that colour, though I miss it. The red wall is in our bedroom (one red wall, the others are white. We got to redecorate the whole house when we moved in, & it has interesting colours all over.).


Hmmm yes well. This is several years old now - me, my partner dogrando (on the right), and my ex (on the left; was not my ex at the time), at Glastonbury. I think in 2003. I used this as my poly icon for a while, but don't use it any more due to the whole ex thing. I have thought about deleting it, but I'm a bit peculiar about deleting icons - I don't like to, because they were part of the context of any post/comment made with them at the time. So I continue to go hmmmm about it at intervals (because it does seem weird to still have an icon featuring someone I'm no longer on speaking terms with (long story)).


This is one of the dinghies I learnt to sail on, in the docks I learnt to sail in! (Down near Canary Wharf, in London.) Sadly it's a general photo from their website, rather than me actually doing the sailing. It's a Wayfarer - nice little 2-3 person dinghy. They have Lasers, as well, which I'd like to have a go on when I get home.


Book-icon: photo of part of my bookshelves at home. I built the bookshelf! Fair cross-section of books there, though the only ones I can identify from the photo are the Julian Cope biog and a Marian Keyes.


From this xkcd cartoon. I have a Thing about how when people say (as people often do) that they don't feel like a grown-up, or anything similar, that what this really means is that we have a mental image of 'grown-up' (probably from parents or other responsible adults) that doesn't fit with how we see ourselves. But we are grown-ups now, and we get to choose our own behaviour, and that can be whatever the hell we want it to be. This is kind of a reminder to myself not to have the OH GOD I AM GOING TO BE OLD AND BORING freakout too often :)
