Cutest thing ever. (thanks to the lovely [personal profile] dogrando for the link) I think possibly they are secretly ALIENS and not armadillos at all.

ION: last night I made myself lentil bolognese with REAL VEGETABLES, and then I slept for 10 hrs straight. Today I feel more like a reasonable human being, which is nice.

Some years ago I was visiting the US and driving in Florida (out to Cape Canaveral). We were driving along, and suddenly on the side of the road we started seeing armadillo. It was a definite "OMG! Look there are armadillo!"

Coming from Australia I'm used to seeing kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, possums etc - all nice fuzzy, furry creatures. So seeing what was so alien was really cool.

Sadly, armadillo are no more car aware that Australian marsupials and we did see quite a bit of armadillo roadkill :-(
