request for mint!

Has anyone got a mint plant that they'd be prepared to dig a bit of root up from to stick in the post to me? (Well: root & some leaf, ideally. Since mint grows like a sodding weed this shouldn't be a great loss to you :) ). In a bubble-wrap envelope with some card around it & damp kitchenroll in clingfilm over the root bit it ought to survive the post.

While I'm at it: similar donations of pennyroyal, sage, tansy, or tarragon would also be appreciated.

Happy to offer cuttings or seeds in exchange: rosemary, lavender, oregano, and thyme are all going well on the balcony; I have lots of rocket seeds & some garlic chive seeds; and a couple of aloe vera offshoots could do with a home. (NB exchange not required! Let me know if you'd like cuttings/seeds anyway :) )

Sorry, our mint failed! :-( However, we appear to have a sage plant growing alright, so if you wanted to pop round some time and get a bit, you'd be very welcome.

I may be able to help you here. I think I have purple peppermint still growing (I could be wrong about the variety!)

I'm going to get some from my parents who can't seem to chop it down fast enough, but not until next year when it can cope outside.

Apparently now is the time to dig up bits of it & replant (I presume it's like trees & it's best to disturb it when it's not wildly active).
