1 free bike, 1 non-free bike

Currently there are on our balcony two (2) bikes which are surplus to requirements. Any takers?

One low-ish-end (£300 new a couple of years ago) Trek hybrid, suitable for someone around 5'7" to 5'11". FREE to a good home.
One Trek road-bike (red 1.5!), suitable for someone 6' or so. (I'm 5'10" and it's too big for me; someone a bit bigger than 6' could probably get away with it as well.) Cassette & crankset have been upgraded; front shifter is a little sticky but functional. This *may* have another taker, but please do say if you're interested. Cost around £300.

Both were when last looked at in working condition; I'm happy to undertake to check brakes/steering & pump the tyres up before they're collected (i.e. so that they'll be safe to ride away) but both (especially the hybrid) may need a little TLC to make them properly pleasant to ride. (I might be up for negotiating a fuller service in exchange for beer tokens :) ).

Collect from our place (Bermondsey) ASAP.

Ooo! If the low-ish-end one is still there on Tuesday and I'm the right height for it, I'd love to collect it. I wouldn't try and ride it home though :-)

I'm not going to be around on Tuesday as I'm off on HOLIDAY hurrah, but Pete should be -- when would you be likely to come by (after work?)? I'd think that it ought to fit you, yes.

ETA by 'Trek' I mean the red road bike, being the one which would fit me. =)

Sorry, I have been informed that I misunderstood, and the red Trek isn't going for free after all (although the hybrid still is) -- it'll be £300. If you're still interested, you'd be welcome to come by tomorrow early afternoon! My apologies for the misinformation.

(For reference, it's a Trek 1.5 but about 2 yrs old; it's had some upgrades (crankset is 105 & cassette is Ultegra, both sometime in the last year). The front shifter is a little sticky (though functional) & might need looking at. Pedals are SPDs but we have some flat pedals somewhere we could switch in.)

ah, well. It sounds ideal (SPD and all) but I think whatever ideas I may have recently had about actually spending money on a new bike have to be put off for a couple months.
