Stories & babies
May. 21st, 2012 03:28 pmI have a story out in issue 3 of the Journal of Unlikely Entemology! It has bugs in.
I have been meaning to do a proper baby-update for ages; this is not it. He is currently asleep on the sofa next to me, having been asleep (bar two snoozy feeds) since 11 this morning. This is Unusual, but as he spent most of yesterday feeding, I conclude that this is the post-growth-spurt rest. It's hard work, growing. He is generally delightful in all ways and has just started being *interested in the world* (who knew that the panels on the wall at Westminster tube station were so TOTALLY AWESOME? They have DOTS, you see. MANY DOTS.). As 11wk old babies go, he sleeps pretty well, but the sleep dep is nevertheless beginning to catch up with me a bit. Of course, despite this, I am spending this unexpected nap catching up with my to-do list rather than eg sleeping, because I am an fule.

Date: 2012-05-22 08:43 pm (UTC)(I think he only woke twice last night. I certainly felt more refreshed in the morning than the morning before when he definitely woke/was restless lots. Advantage of co-sleeping: no very clear notion of what went on overnight.)

Date: 2012-06-07 09:09 pm (UTC)You don't know me, I've just googled you. I'd like to learn about Permaculture but only have pots to do it in right now -- I noticed you have a book called "Permaculture in Pots", which sounds rather the thing, but I couldn't find it at the publisher. (I may not have looked in the right place.) Where can I get a copy? :)
Thanks, Jason Wingate

Date: 2012-06-07 09:45 pm (UTC)Unfortunately currently it's still with the publisher -- it was originally due out last November but got put back to this summer. I was expecting to hear from the publisher with a final confirmation shortly but haven't yet. I emailed them today to find out where things are at as I've just had a baby so have not been entirely on top of matters! I'll comment back to let you know.
all the best, & thank you for the interest! Juliet

Date: 2012-06-08 02:12 pm (UTC)Publishers say "hopefully by October, definitely before Xmas" (small press; delays are sadly inevitable!) :/ If there's anything you're particularly looking for help/advice on, do drop me an email, or check out http://julietkemp.com where I have some posts on various aspects of growing things. Mostly talking about the New Garden right now, though, rather than pots, but could do a few pot-based posts on demand...
