Much general fun stuff over the weekend.
Saturday was Kake's party, which was cool. Showed up mid-afternoon intending to Cook Stuff, & then ended up only cooking spicy sweet potato & parsnip chips (recipe fairly straightforward: slice sweet potato/parsnip thinly, heat oil & mix curry powder/various spices of your choice into it, pour over veg slices & mix, stick on baking sheet in 180deg oven, turn when appropriate, remove, consume). I was going to do more stuff, but there were people dissecting crab all over the place, and then I started in on the wine, and was talking to people, and kind of lost the will to start doing complicated stuff. I did make some pasta salad a bit later, though. And the crisp thingys went down pretty well, being consumed at approximately the rate of production. Anyway. Talked to many people, mostly people I'd not met before, which is always nice cos I like meeting new people. Caught up with
j4 who I've not seen in *ages*. Drank more wine, including nice dessert wine from, iirc,
daneel_olivaw. Missed last tube home due to general fun-having, so stayed over. All much fun.
Not quite at my sunny best on Sunday morning (there's a surprise), but thankfully didn't need to do anything too challenging. Went up to Highgate for the afternoon to visit my sister. Being in Wendy's house is very soothing, as she is obsessively tidy (to the extent that on one occasion when visiting me at college she tidied up *my* room for me while I was out, because she couldn't stand looking at it. This woman shares 50% of my genetic material, you know. *boggle*). So we spent a few hours watching Buffy videos and chatting, and I felt calmed by the lack of mess. And then there was food (roasted veg & asparagus - my sister is very civilised indeed, and had even bought vegan marg, bless her), and it was all generally good.
And now I am back at work, and had to face the horror that is the Tube atm, due to having viola with and thus not being able to cycle (viola too big, would fall off bike). Bah. Plus I have backache, whinge whinge.
