Feeling incompetent & mentally-scratchy. I have actually managed to do useful stuff at work yesterday & today, but it doesn't feel like it; & now I have Big Important Report to produce by the end of the week & am completely incapable of even starting to think about it without panicking. The cure for this sort of thing when I was still student-ing was to go for a walk or something, but this doesn't really seem to be an option when at work. Though logically it would be sensible, cos I'd be more likely to actually get something done.

On the upside, am going to see Philip Jeays on Thursday at the Drill Hall, with [livejournal.com profile] beingjdc & Martin, which will be fun. And video at [livejournal.com profile] kauket's tonight, ditto.

Have changed userpic to one of Storm & Myste when they were little. Storm continues to be doing OK, although I'm worried that we're not cleaning the gunk out well enough. Pete's supposed to be getting the vet to do a demonstration this afternoon at the appt.

grrrRRRRRR. Twitchy, headachey, general unpleasantness. And I was feeling all cheerful this morning, as well.

You're legally entitled to breaks; I bet other cow-orkers go for cigarette breaks, and the time that takes would probably be long enough to go for a walk around the block or something.

If you're feeling really bad, to be honest, though, I'd just ask them -- say "I'm feeling really headachey and icky, can I just go and get some fresh air for 15 minutes or so? I think I'll be in a lot better state to get some work done after that." You can always make up the extra 15 mins at the end of the day if they're really picky about hours. But from their p.o.v. it's got to be better than you taking the afternoon off sick or something.

*hugs* Hope you're feeling better soon anyway...
