baby foxes!

Discovered last night that we have *baby foxes* in our garden. Well, they're adolescent-ish (since they're wandering around the place), & they may not live in our garden but in one nearby. But they came through the garden several times, & even came up to peer through the patio doors at us. Foxes, however, do not like bananas, it would seem; or at least they didn't eat the one I put out for them (didn't have any other food to hand).

Had Cathy, Pete S, Steve, Stevie, & Wendy round last night to inspect the Shiny New House, which they duly admired. And then there was wine, & beer, & pizza. Then marnameow, wintrmute, atommickbrane, sbp, & boyofbadgers showed up en route back from pub, with MORE BOOZE (including exciting pink stuff) & a desire to finish up the leftover pizza (a desire sufficiently strong, in fact, that even my cheese-free pizza with nutritional yeast on the top got eaten). Later on Pete & I forced marnameow & sbp to listen to The Bigger The God, which thankfully they liked, or we would have had to KILL THEM & THROW THEM TO THE FOXES. Possibly.

I am a little tired this morning.

You're tired.... yay foxes. My father has foxes as you know, I think they mainly get dog food, but they also, predictably, like chicken, turkey, and assorted icky meats (like, say, liver). I can ask if they take to anything vegan if you like, but I doubt it.

They are supposed to be omnivores, & they do eat fruit (according to the League's exciting factsheet, available here. But yes, meat more often. If we see them round again (i.e. confirm their long-term presence) I might start putting food out. Lovely foxes!

I can't deprive your kittens of their food! Even for cute baby foxes.

(anyway, *really* the baby foxes should probably learn to forage etc rather than relying on humans. But they are *so* cute!)
