I have just remembered: apparently Woolworth's are selling a 2-person tent for something ridiculous like £16, according to my mum. This is probably a pretty shitty tent, but might be useful for Glastonbury for those who are currently tentless. I also suspect that calling it "2-person" is a little overoptimistic, but a 1-person for that price ain't bad either.

Perhaps they meant 2 people, stacked vertically?

Depends what the weather's going to be like... if it's glorious sunshine (WHICH IT WILL BE :-) then a shitty tent from Woolies will probably be fine, if it's a mudbath then it'll be about as much use as the proverbial chocolate teapot.

If it's a mudbath, making for the "hills" and sleeping in a bivvy bag looks like the best option to me.

Would sufficient waterproofness to sit down make a difference? If it's going to be that wet I'm going to wear a splashsuit [like a cross between a kagoul and a catsuit] so I can just sit wherever & not get too wet.

Bloody typical really: Woollies in Cambridge closed for good about a month ago. Oh well, we probably wanted something a bit more substantial anyway.

There's still one in Ely I think, but it's a bit far to go... wonder if there's a Woolies in Oxford, if you're going to be down there at the weekend?

Anyway Simpers probably do much better stuff & they're supposed to be quite cheap. Will have a look some time if I get a chance. Or failing that Argos do cheapo tents.
