So. A good weekend, all round.

Friday was nice & calm - Pete & I went over to [livejournal.com profile] marnameow & [livejournal.com profile] sbp's for curry, wine, looking at poetry, being lent Sandman (which *rocks*!), & the serendipitous discovery of Tony Benn & Nick Cave (separately, not together) on Jools Holland. All v good.

Saturday daytime was the League AGM, which was tolerable - even finished half an hour early. And hey! it means a day in lieu (which I plan to take next week). Zoomed off home to tidy house pre-party, assisted slightly later by The Magic Washing-Up Pixies, aka [livejournal.com profile] marnameow & [livejournal.com profile] beingjdc, & [livejournal.com profile] daneel_olivaw.

And then party. Many thanks to everyone who came - I had a top time. I was massively hyper more or less from the start, assisted heavily by 4 glasses of champagne (fizz!) & then a couple of monumentally strong TVRs. [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess is an Evil Influence. Although admittedly the strength of the first TVR was my fault. More & more people kept showing up, hurrah. Good job it was dry & thus we could spread into the garden, or it would have been *way* too crowded. For once I actually got to talk to a reasonable number of the people, as well, although as per usual I missed some (I always do - such is the way of parties). A certain amount of debauched antics took place (now there's a surprise). A truly vast quantity of booze was killed (4 65l rucksacks full of bottles, no less, when we came to do the recycling yesterday evening). Abi, Kat, J-P, & Pete variously DJed very well indeed. Much talking & general happiness & bounciness & *stuff*. I had a couple of really good chats to folk I've not seen in ages, which was ace.

Around about 2 or 3am the neighbours came round, whoops. However, as neighbours-coming-round goes, it was pretty good:
Bloke: "Right, it's late, can you keep the noise down please?"
Woman: "But it's really good music you're playing!"
heh. So we agreed to come in out of the garden, & apologised, & they said that'd be fine. (& they didn't come back, so I guess it was)

Shortly after that people started flaking out... the awake part of the party moved through to the kitchen/stairs. You can fit quite a few people on the stairs if you're all *friendly* people. [livejournal.com profile] uon did some washing up, & I discovered that he had also at an earlier stage of the evening *put the empty boxes on the landing into the attic*. The boxes have been there for about the last 1 1/2 months; I'd lost all hope of them ever moving. [livejournal.com profile] uon is lovely, although it is surely wrong for a party to involve *tidying* a house!

At about 6am, [livejournal.com profile] marnameow & I decided that it would be a Good Idea to go to Southwark Park, & drag the still-awake Pete, J-P, & [livejournal.com profile] uon with us. We also decided that it would be a Good Idea to awaken [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess & drag here too. I cannot remember *why* we thought this was a good idea. I think we just thought that having a Jess about the place was fun. I have some impressive bruises to testify to her resistance to the concept, but we won in the end (sorry, Jess sweetie!) & headed off. Marna, doop & I played on the swings & the slide and ran around like lunatics, and then went paddling in the pond (yes, OK, this was just Marna & me. And I didn't really *mean* to, I just sort of fell in, & then it seemed daft to worry. And the island needed exploring!). At this point the others abandoned us to go home (interrupted by the parkie telling them to get us out of the pond as we were bothering the coots - whoops). So we sat under some trees talking lots, & then were rejoined by J-P & [livejournal.com profile] uon who were on their various ways home & had detoured to bring us a blanket cos it was starting to rain a bit (which was also lovely of them), & stopped for a while to be talked at. At one point we wandered to the shops for water (wrapped in blanket - were accosted by someone en route who said "Good party, then?" heh), & back for more being-in-park, before finally staggering to our various beds at 10am.

Woke up at arund 1230 to discover that everyone except for [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess & [livejournal.com profile] martling (& Pete, obviously) had buggered off. This caused me very peculiar headspace, & [livejournal.com profile] martling had to calm me down. Tea & toast helped. [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, having just got back to the country (yay!) came round, which was v good. I broke quite impressively when we went round the corner to the shop to get Red Bull, & suddenly I found myself sat on the floor in the middle of the shop crying my eyes out. Blood sugar issues. [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth coped admirably, got me home, & cooked me noodles. Thank you, sweetie!

Collected a [livejournal.com profile] marnameow in due course, & wandered off to the George for (in my case, anyway) lots of Pepsi. Everyone except for Kitty was absolutely knackered, but tbh he was pretty bouncy all by himself. Pizza followed, then Pete & I headed home to clear up the worst of the mess & go to *sleep*.

Still feeling a bit weird today (emotionally more than physically), but I've been getting better over the course of the day, thankfully. A damn fine party, with lots of damn fine people. Yay.

Doesn't it just? I was lent it my [livejournal.com profile] j4, and I'm now rereading it for the 3rd time in the week...

Very sorry for not making it. I was so knackered after Max Tundra that I couldn't form proper sentences, so I thought it best to get some sleep.

Wonderful party indeed :)

Would have loved to come along to the park too if i hadn't been completely crashed by then.

I still think those tequila/absinthe mixtures were vile and terrible! Can't believe the drinkers were looking perky the next day.. (although i gather they got more sleep than most, due to crashing earlier?)

Aw hon, I'm sorry. But we'd been awake for ages (on account of getting to sleep sooner) and did sort of need to head off home, but really didn't think it was fair to wake you after only a couple of hours' sleep. Would have left you a badger to make up for it if I'd had one to hand.

*hugs*
