Today I get to spend the day at a communications training course (intended to help us learn about talking to TV & radio & suchlike). Quite apart from the fact that apparently this includes being filmed & having to *watch yourself* afterwards (*shudders in abject horror*), it will also mean not having any connectivity for the day. Bah. Theoretically I have ssh on the shinytoy, but I couldn't get it to work yesterday. I can read LJ, though :-) (really must check how much this is costing me - I don't know how it fits in with my current payment plan thingy)
Humph. It's all a waste of time *anyway* as there is no way on this earth I am ever going anywhere *near* a radio/TV interview. Oh well, maybe it will transpire to be useful in some other way in the end.

(Mind you I doubt if you need any help with that kind of thing really!) And it's something you can put on your CV if you want to go for a job that requires any kind of talking to people...
Basically my view is that any training is a Good Thing, whatever it's for. 's all experience anyway.
Sympathy about the watching yourself on film though; I hate even hearing my own voice on tape, let alone seeing me on video. Mind you I think most people do, at least a bit... I think it's because we're so not used to seeing ourselves from the outside. It's not so much that it's inherently bad but that it's often so much at odds with our mental image of ourselves. Maybe. If you see what I mean.
